I just ordered a meerschaum pipe, its an sms block meerschaum pipe, and i was just wondering if somebody could tell me the rituals of meerschaum smoking, for example, briar can be smoked limitedly and have to rest, dont use a torch hot or youll burn the rim. Dont burn too hot because you my burn through
Stuff like that, but for meerschaum pipes, ive never had one before, thanks guys

Just load it up and smoke it, you won't burn the rim but if you don't want to discolour it be a bit careful, no nead to rest it like you would with briar, try to smoke with clean hands a oils and dirt can discolour it, some wear gloves but a bit over the top to me, be careful in the rain, they absorb water more than briar, thats about it.

I don't wear gloves, but I also handle my meers only by the stem when smoking them to keep from marring the wax coating with fingerprints, ect.

Be very careful of water. No smoking in the bathtub, while peeing, in a rain storm, by the lake, etc...
No smoking in dangerous places like the car or anywhere your environment can cause damage to the pipe.
Don't smoke too hot or it may crack. Hot meer is very fragile.
Don't ever clean it with alcohol or salt. Dry paper towels after every bowl is enough + dry pipe cleaners for the stem.
Enjoy great tasting tobaccos as it will give you a true "clean" flavor from your tobacco. Its definitely worth the care it needs!
