Calling All Stanwell Experts (Pipe ID Help)

Hi Folks,

I picked up an estate Stanwell with a horrible replacement stem a while back. Finally got around to restoring the stummel and I am having a replacement stem made for it. Problem is, I can't find a damn picture of what this shape originally looked like! Stanwell made a number of different shape 38s (reg'd era) including a lovat, some freehands, and occasionally a nefertiti. But for whatever reason, photos of this sort of scoop version have eluded me.

If anyone knows this shape, or where to find a picture of an original so I can have a historically accurate replacement stem craft, please please please let me know!

I'd say it was a bent stem.

Actually looking closer, the 138 doesn’t taper back inward at the front of the bowl like yours does.
