I am trying to find a local B&M shop. I am willing to travel quite a ways. I would even except a NH B&M. I just want the experience of walking in seeing all the blends and pipes. The only one I have found some what near me had a only one cabinet of pipe stuff and the rest was cigars.

jfox: I'm from Biddeford, and we have a tobacconist... But it's exactly the same as the one you're describing. Minimal pipe goodies, scads of cigars.
Where do you hail from?
Also, sorry I was not very much help.

I live in Norway, ME, but I work in Westbrook, ME. I know that I probably do not need to put ME but it just feels weird to type Norway and not put it there.

I have tried calling a few shops and two were gone and one could not be bothered to give me much information. I travel to Massachusetts quite often to visit my daughters so I will have to make time to go to L.J. Peretti.

On the plus side, Dad's still lets you chill with the cigaristas and burn a bowl. Plus they have a couple Stokkebye flakes. And some jars of bulk aros. And a few drug store blends. I did also espy a few (read: literally three) Sutliff Private Stock tins. Two Blend 5's and one Great Outdoors. I promptly relieved them of their stock.
Great Outdoors smells like root beer.
Anyway, I digress. The sad state of Maine's B&M's (ambiguous modifier!) has led me to seek solace in the likes of 4noggins and P&C.com. Lately very much favoring 4noggins, since P&C has a lot of what I want to stock on backorder. It's hard to move a business (true statement. Been there a couple of times lol)! But I love both of those sites.
Maybe we could all become business partners and open one! A pipe-centric B&M, that is.

HA! Oh yeah, John: If I were even reasonably on point today (or yesterday), I'd have remembered that you had already told me you were from Norway.
Also, did that place at the mall not pan out?

No it did not. They had only one cabinet half pipes and half house blends (3). They where pretty pricey. Not very helpful. I am going to North Conway tomorrow and I am going to try the Cigar Emporium. I have been there before but it was before I had picked up pipes again. I will let you know.

I did go to the Village Cigar Emporium in North Conway, NH. Pretty much the same as the other shops. But he had some blends that smelled great so I picked up some to try. I would not call them house blends because the company that supplied then to him has a web site that you can purchase the blends from.

I purchased these New Castle English, Nature's Best, and Turkish Balkan. I have only tried Turkish Balkan so far but I have fallen in love with it. I am going have to try some other Balkan blends.

Thank you Roth. I am looking forward to smoking the pipe. I have read a lot about these pipes on the forum.
