C&D Mocha Anyone??

Being a huge fan of everything chocolate, I bought a couple different blends a few months back.
Last night I finally had a hankering for some chocolate, so I opened this tin.



Oh my....I know it's been a while since I've had an aromatic tobacco but boy... This blend is as wet as it gets.
I sorted through it to check for mold, and it was all good. But my hand was wet afterwards. I had a great idea to put some paper towel in the tin to help it dry out overnight.it worked fine, but not nearly good enough.


Boy does it sure smell good though. So I plan on using my SRV meerschaum to smoke it. You know....in 6 months from now when it's finally dry....wasn't planning on having to wait that long ....

Also today mixed a jar half with Mocha and half dry as a bone Carter hall. That should help dry it out a bit. And meld flavors.

It think that’s the same as Cobblestone Cafe Mocha. It has more of a chocolate raspberry flavor to me.

If you're still in the first five years or so of pipe smoking, probably a good idea.

A terribly misnamed blend. Raspberry Lakeland Coffee would've been better.

Aside from Nutty Irishman (an under-discussed blend), I haven't had a C&D aromatic.

I think Nutty is great and tastes similar to frangelico or an Irish cream.

Mocha is like a mochaccino and Chocolate Cavendish is like a Three Musketeers bar

No body mentioned how wet this stuff is! Is this normal? Like dripping wet. I'm glad I opened it when I did, or else it would start pooling on the bottom I'm sure! Haha

No experience with the C&D Mocha, but I have an oz or two of Lane BCA in a jar and the bottom inside of the jar is a solid pool of black sticky stuff.

I should have read between the lines and taken your advice... I ordered 2 oz of Mocha Strips to try with my Simply Orange order since I have read so much interesting stuff about the blend in the forums. The order arrived today. The Mocha Strips smelled quite pleasing, but the smoking experience was horrible. I had to dump it half way through the first pipeful. Something about it does not agree with me. It's like a chemical trash dump on fire in my mouth. I regret not getting 2 oz of nearly anything else instead. Easily the most disappointing blend that I have tried in 2022.

It’s all a chance to learn and experience. I’ve never had it, just know I wouldn’t like it.

If you're still in the first few years of pipe smoking, aromatics should be avoided or only occasionally attempted for the next few years.

Sutliff's Voodoo Queen is an English blend that uses Mocha Slices. I'm not really an English blend smoker but I really enjoy this one. It might be up your alley, if you haven't tried it. $31 a pound for bulk makes it even better.

Thanks for the tip - I’ve avoided Voodoo Queen in the past because I kind of have a love/hate thing going with perique. But maybe I’ll give this one a try.

Uh, not really sure what this is supposed to mean as I have many, many aromatics in my tobacco selection that I enjoy thoroughly. This one is definitely not one of them.
