Buying/selling question for those with experience

Hello all,

I am gearing up to sell tobacco for the first time online. It's a single bag, but fairly valuable, I'm only selling it out of necessity. I'll be posting it on this forum once I have some confidence that I'm equipped to complete the transaction.

I have two main questions but I am grateful for any additional advice.

1. When is payment customarily rendered? Immediately? After the receipt of tracking information? Upon receipt of the tobacco?

2. Is paypal the standard, or should I make an account somewhere else to receive payment?

I'm sure it's going to be fine, I think this is a sound community, but I would prefer not to extract these details from a potential buyer. Thank you very much for your help

Payment prior to tracked shipping.

PayPal is fine. A lot of people just use F&F, but if this is your first sale, consider using goods and services. There is a small fee that you will pay (3%?) but if the tobacco is valuable that could be included in the cost

PayPal or Zelle is fine. Payment is always upfront, no excuses.

There are guidelines on this forum defining who can sell or buy tobacco. They were set up after a number of members got ripped off.

A lot of people ignore the guidelines and do so at their risk. The site has no obligation to intercede and only reluctantly reopened the buy, sell, trade sub forum.

If members’ lack of judgment results in problems it can always go away again.
