There was another thread that mentioned using Carmex to wax a pipe. I didn't have any Carmex but I did have a tin of Burt's Bees lip balm. I noticed the two main ingredients were beeswax and carnauba wax, along with some emollients and other stuff. As I was enjoying a smoke, I worked a small amount into my pipe. It really brought out a nice lustre in the finish. It also didn't add any odd flavors or aroma. Totally worth trying.

I keep a lot of both waxes on hand . Part of my stock is made up of a mixture of carnauba, beeswax and a wee bit of raw linseed oil. Puts one heck of a nice finish on a hand turned bowl.
