I second C&D Burley Flake #2. I’m sure someone will suggest Soloni ABF (Aged Burley Flake) but I think C&D better and I think you’ll truly enjoy the Pegasus. — I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Granger. Simple is sometimes just what the Dr ordered.

As for a rarer burley treat, try one of the three C&D blends with Deer tongue:

Crooner - Cube cut dark and white burley (all burley) and DT.

Engine 382 and Gentlemen Caller VaBers with DT

This list might be a little different but here are some of my favs (in addition to others mentioned above):

Fantastic bulk blends with burley:

Watch City Cigar - Deluxe Crumb Cut
Watch City Cigar - Glass Slipper
Watch City Cigar - Old North Church

Good Bulk burley/burley based:

Sutliff - Burley J4
Sutliff - Burley Delight #212

Burley but different burley and phenomenal:

Tobac Manil - Le Petit Robin (or any of their blends)

Best (and strong for me) Va/Bur:

Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. - Dark Flake Unscented (also try the scented version just in case you like it more)

Aromatic with noticeable burley:

KBV - Fallen Cherry

I suggest trying some c&d dark burley, along with c&d’s white burley. You can experiment blending them, come up with something that suits you. Personally I like 80% dark, 20% white. It’s excellent on its own, and can serve as a base for more complex blends, spiced up with perique, Turkish, Latakia, dark fired—or a red Virginia. At this moment I’m smoking a burley-oriental-perique blend

More than half of what I smoke is burley and/or burley inclusive, so I won't recite my whole rotation. However, you might also like C&D Tuggle Hall and Stratfordshire, and maybe Petersons Irish Flake and 3-P. If you haven't tried Semois, the Belgium burley variant, in medium or thick cut, you might want to give that a try.

In the codger vein, I like Sir Walter Raleigh original and aromatic. I like Amphora burley.

OK Uhle.
Double recommended.
It's in the mail.

Solani Aged Burley is out of stock at Smoking Pipes.
It's in my wishlist and I may go to the local shop to get a tin in the meantime.
MacBaron HH Burley Flake is in the cart for the next order.
I'm adding others to the wishlist.

I particularly like the ones available bulk.
If I like it I buy a pound and jar it up to age.

Lots of good recommendations for sure.
Thanks. I look forward to trying them all.

I do intend to try my hand at blending and pressing cakes.
C&D offers most of the components in bulk.
It's on the todo list.

Definitely grab a pouch of Five Brothers if you haven’t tried it , it’s brutally basic , great for beefing up blends if you need more Nic without ruining the flavor , enjoy the Pegasus , great all day

SWR Regular is my go-to blend but Pegasus is a VERY close second. It really just depends on how much nicotine I want at that moment. Pegasus is slightly stronger.

Haunted bookshop, burley flake #1, and Mac baren hh burley flake are some of my other favorites that I’ve tried.
