I started with tins and still occasionally buy a tin but the bottom line is I can get more tobacco for the same amount of money with bulk tobacco.
If we're invoking Jeremy Reeves here, I believe he's said on YT that if you want your tobacco to mature, leave some room at the top of the jar and don't vacuum seal it -- the air gets the fermentation process started, and then it goes anaerobic once the oxygen is used up.you can purchase a system online, that lets you remove most of the air from inside the can.
Cant remember what its called, vacuum sealer yes, but not specific name for fitting on mason jars.
But one must remember that not every batch will be the same in taste. nor of mixing.
When i used to smoke Club, i noticed that the coins were not the same between each coin. different amounts of each color in the individual coin slice.I feel we should remember that tobacco is a natural product. Each crop each year varies slightly. If comparing bulk and tinned versions where they the same batch? Same field even?
All this makes a definitive answer difficult
