I'm looking to set aside a couple of pounds of tobacco and am intrigued by H&H Larry's Blend. The reviews sound good and the price is certainly attractive.
Does anybody here smoke Larry's Blend? Is there a downside to long term cellaring of this blend?
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

I had some that cellared for about 3 years...definitely no downside it smoked very well and didn't really dull the Latakia to my taste. I think it married the individual flavors somewhat but still had nice complexity. Overall this is a fine blend young or old.

LB is my go-to blend that works in all pipes--although some better than others. It uses latakia correctly as a condiment although for me the orientals dominate and make it smooth with a slight sweetness. It is the non-aromatic that has a touch of that taste I hoped for years to find in the aros but never did. As I am nic sensitive I like the fact that it has only a very mild kick if any. I think that is due to all the orientals in the blend. Typical Russ O.

Why does P&C charge more for the bulk blend of Black House as opposed to the tins which they happen to be out of?

As others have said...If you like English, definitely worth picking up.

Larry's Blend is a great tobacco, I always keep at least a half lb. here. I have some of Russ's Black House on the way; I'll see how they compare. One other great English blend to try is Boswell's Northwoods. It's a little pricey but a wonderful smoke. I always keep some here.

Larry's Blend is one of my all-time favorites. And it's unbelievably inexpensive compared to many other blends. For the month of December, PipeandCigars is offering 20% off of Hearth and Home blends, making Larry's Blend a fantastic bargain. Also, if you're looking for another similar blend, go to the PipesandCigars sight and within the Tinned Tobacco section, there is a link for some McClelland Special Edition blends that McClelland did for PipesandCIgars. One of those blends is called Starlit Night. It is similar to Larry's Blend and really terrific. I recommend either of these blend s whole-heartedly.

flint - I don't know if the samplers are also part of this month's fantastic H&H sale, but it's still worth ordering to sample your choice of Russ's fine range. If you like Larry's (and I do), you might like Ten to Midnight (a chunky cake, same flavor profile but a touch lighter), Admiralty, Armada (more Perique), Ambassador, and maybe Namaste (a delightful morning blend).
The quality of Russ's blends is world class, and at prices even before the December sale which are downright cheap.

+1 on Les' suggestion of Admiralty. On my last trip up, they were out of Fusiliers Ration, so I grabbed a few ounces of it, a nice English blend. I'm a fan of Larry's Blend as well. I actually met the real Larry on a visit a few months ago, he's quite a character!
