Chuck was a long-time pipe repairman of the absolute highest caliber. Literally the best on Planet Earth for antiques that involved amber.

He hosted the repairman's workshop at the Chicago Show for many years.

He was also outgoing, had a great sense of humor, and was generous with his time and knowledge.

He will be missed.

RIP, Dr. Chuck

Dr. Chuck was a friend and fellow Chicago Pipe Club member for many years. Some of the pipes in my collection were saved due to his talent for expert restoration.
May his memory be eternal.

Being a more recent member of CPCC, I didn't know Dr. Chuck as long as Dino did. Chuck retired from pipe repair around 2019 at the urging of his wife. He had a remarkable range of skills and an equally impressive array of tools. It was sure great to have a repairman of his caliber in CPCC. We could bring pipes to the meeting, hand them to Dr. Chuck, and he'd bring them to another meeting when the work was complete. CPCC has lost a lot of giants in the last several years. An unfortunate reality of this hobby.

I hadn’t heard of him until now but he sounds like an absolute legend. Now that makes two CPCC members I wish I had met before they passed.
