Hi all
I was removing the stem from my meer. It is a relatively cheep one with a plastic tenon that slides into the stem but is threaded on the Mortise end and I basically have striped the thread in the mortise that holds the tenon in place. Any ideas how I can fix it?

Ouch. I have done small repairs with clay before. I picked some up at a craft store. Not sure if it will work in that area though. Best of luck!

Sorry to hear it! I have an old meer with a similar problem. I melted some beeswax on the tenon and place it on before it hardened. It's been holding very well.
I will eventually send it out or try buying a replacement delrin tenon (my stem is genuine amber), but for now, it's a quick easy solution.

The epoxy is fine if you keep it out of the draft channel- epoxy or CA is used in every pipe that has a ferrule, stem inlay or bamboo extension. Two problems- you screw it up and get a gob of epoxy in the airway, it will be painful to fix unless you have correct tools and skills- you might destroy the pipe. If you don't get it set in the correct position within five minutes, you destroy the pipe. If it's a decent pipe, go for the correct fix and have the tenon replaced.
