Hi everyone has anyone ever had this problem before? I have a pipe that has some nice semi straight grain on the shank and I noticed the other day it seems to have raised up giving it a ripple to the surface. I tried drying the pipe out by not using it for several days but doesn't seem to have helped. It's not an expensive pipe but it is one I enjoy smoking. Any ideas or am I just going to have to live with it any help would be nice? I also thought about sanding it down and all that but I don't think there is anyway to get the finish to match.
thanks

That's too bad. It's never happened to me, but I can see it happening. A bowl is subjected to a lot of heat and moisture - so I would imagine it's bound to happen now and then.
