I just refurbished this pipe for a friend with a brand name of "Bretton Hall"

I was hoping that maybe someone here would know a thing or two about this french brand. All I know is that this brand disappeared in the 50's. I would love to post some pictures but, I forgot to take a picture of it before I gave it to a friend.
Edit: Corrected capitalization in title per Rule #9. L.

According to the book "Who Made That Pipe," they were made in St. Claude, France, by an unknown manufacturer.

Thank you for the reply. Now I know it's made in St. Claude. I wonder if it's a good pipe. I hope my friend will like it.

I needed another hole in my head, threw a bid in on this little old poker and 'won' it last night.

I enjoy smoking a couple of my older briar pipes from the 50's and earlier...this one should work.

I love the shape, lately, all variations.

I think the p+p price I was looking at must have been to the UK then...
Shipping: $22.50 USPS First Class Mail International / First Class Package International Service.

Very nice Newbroom, I like it.

It would have been $15.50 shipping to Canada, crazy  Shipping never used to be that bad.

davet, it IS very nice! the nomenclature says, in addition to Bretton Hall, imported briar.

I guess that means that it was made especially to be exported? Or, that the wood itself was imported to the US?

I don't think that pipes sold in EU typically require or have that imported designation.

The pipe has a screw in stem w/ stinger. Heck ya, I ran a bowl. It had a slight Ennerdale like ghost, but it wasn't objectionable..and quickly dissipated.

It was very clean internally. I haven't weighed it, but it is right at one oz or less in feel.

PAD is a success!

Newbroom: OS should not make a difference!
Once your photos are on a photo hosting site (such as Imgur.com; Photobucket; Postimage; Dropbox, etc.), or on virtually any site, select the full image, then Control-click (Mac) or Right-click (Windows) on the image itself, then choose copy image location. Now paste that URL (the full web address, which should end in .jpg) into the IMG box in the reply window of the thread you're posting to.
