Morning folks,
I'll be in Boston for a week in early April and am on the lookout for estates in need of restoration/refurbishing. I'd welcome any recommendations for tobacconists, pipe stores, antique malls, flea markets in the proximity.
Thanks in advance for your input,
-- Pat

LJ Peretti has been in business 130 years. May not be a good place to get estates to refurbish, but it's one of those old-time places you need to check out.

Look under the pipe store locator tab in this website. Perhaps you could call shops nearby in advance before your trip so see what might be available. That way you could better plan your spare time.
Please enjoy your trip and I hope you find lots of pipes to restore.

Thanks for the Peretti tip folks. I look fwd to visiting them. I just won my first Ehrlich pipe on ebay, and simultaneously just purchased my new workbench on craigslist. So I hope to bring an Ehrlich back to Boston in a couple weeks.
Will let you lads know how the trip pans out.
Thanks,
-- Pat

Peretti's has a huge selection of blends. I suggest checking their website before going, to get an idea of what they have.
If you get into Worcester, be sure to visit The Owl Shop on Main Street.

Pat - bring several pipes and sample Peretti's blends from their many jars. Then you should buy as much of what you like to bring home. If you like SG Balkan Flake, you may love LJP's Cambridge Flake. You should try their Royal Blend, Smith's Own, Tashkent, Century, Oriental No.40 and Omega.

Thanks for the tip Les! That's a great idea, and something that I never would have thought of given the restrictions around retailing tobacco here in Ontario. I'm looking forward to this trip more and more every day.
Best,
-- Pat
