I'm not really reviewing it but I am saying this stuff is trash. I read the reviews after I bought it and some of the reviews on Tobaccoreviews.com are freakin hilarious. I got jipped by great packaging. If you want a good laugh, I highly suggest going over and reading them on this particular blend.
I thought, if this stuff doesn't wrk out, i might can blend it with a little more black cavendish. Has anybody ever tried that before? I hate to spend $6 on a pouch of tobacco and throw it int he trash but...

Any time I don't like the taste of a blend I put a little black cavendish in it and it makes it taste a little more tolerable. Someone on here might trade if you want to go that route.

I actually took a Ball jar, tossed it in with half a jar of black cavendish. Hope it sweets it up a little. Lol

Personally I don't think that ANYTHING can make bad tobacco into good tobacco. And Borkum Riff is pretty darn bad.
Just my opinion, of course.

BR was bad back in the '60's. Glad to know some things never change.

First time I smoked this stuff was back in 1969. I borrowed one of my dads pipes and went to the drug store and bought some. I loved the smell out of the pouch and then proceeded to burn the crap out of my tongue. I had no idea how to smoke a pipe because I was only 12. After several attempts I gave it up and started smoking Tijuana Smalls and Wolf Bros Rum Soaked Crooks. Yes I was a little degenerate, by the time I was 13 I was smoking a pack a day of True Greens.

I just happened to by a pouch of this stuff yesterday to try something different, Im glad I am not the only one with a not so great opinion of this stuff. Atleast I can say I have tried it now....Can also say that Im not too fond of it. If it was all I could get my hands on Id smoke it up, but fortunately thats not the case.

I used to smoke that stuff, long ago and far away. Then I found better drugstore blends and then, finally, real tobacco. I have been revisiting some of the old drugstore blends I smoked, and trying some of the ones I never did. I have absolutely no desire to revisit BR, however. :puffy:

Funny thing is I can't keep it in stock to save my life. Based this year's forecast on last year's sales (when it was distributed by Swedish Match), and the volumes have turned out to be 2-3 times greater. Not exactly my cup of tea either, although I just smoked Borkum Riff Champagne (not available in the US), and kind of liked it. There are about five or six other variants that have never been sold here in the US. Considering bringing a few of them in to see how they will fare.

Some of it HAS to be curiosity. If people keep talking about how they don't like it... well, then I'M going to have to try it too.
Glad to hear it's a big seller for you guys.
I still plan on buying some too... that's the funny part.

I think it can be considered one of the great "codger blends".

My Dad smoked it exclusively for many years.

I like to pick up a pouch of Whiskey every now-and-again, just because.

Tell me about it. I wish they all threw their 2 cents in when we talked about them behind their backs.
Kinda cool.
