I was at Wingenroths in PA today and Mel mentioned knowing Mr. Bonafiglia and has sold his pipes at the shop for many years. He had a series of pipes on his wall and when I asked about them, he said they were Bonafiglia "Starter" pipes, a new line of inexpensive briar. They aren't highly polished and have no stem logos or adornments. They do look very well crafted, but somewhat plain. He sells them for $50. This Rhodesian looked like a nice piece. Has anyone smoke or even seen one of these Bonafiglia's? For $50, the thick bowl looked pretty inviting. I'd probably take it to the buffer and hit it with some carnuba to brighten it up a bit.

Or sand it and re-stain it! I think I would have been hard-pressed to pass up that little guy too.
I'm definately a fan of thick walls on a pipe; to a point.

Well I like the looks of that pipe. Seems like it would feel good in your hand? If I had it in a hand and the mood struck me I could see paying that. I tend to buy pipes by feel now days. Yet, next to a more refined finished pipe with a brand name? That might be on the shelf next to it at around the same price?

Nice lookin' pipe. I'd just shine it up and smoke it! Be nice if it was marked in some way to identify as made by him, kinda like what Trevor Talbert does.

I like the looks of that too. Looks well made and sturdy. I agree about hitting it with a buffer. Nice price too! :puffy:

"That's a nice pipe - that's something I would buy then send off to jason to rusticate !"
Why? There's no reason to rusticate a pipe sounds always something like a "fake" let that pipe to lives her life

I especially like the relatively thick wall surrounding your bowl. Should make a fine hand warmer on these cool winter days. Take some of the advice from the brothers relative to finishes and it should shine like a star in the clear winter sky. Very nice.
