I just cracked open a tin of Chelsea Morning this afternoon. The smell is very similar to EMP, and the flavor is somewhat similar in the smoke. However, CM has more latakia and has stronger "legs" in the VA's. Plus, it's a rougher cut (pressed, then "tumbled into ribbons"), so the different flavors come and go throughout the bowl. It's a much more complex smoke, but EMP is so delicately balanced and the thin ribbons make packing and lighting a breeze. I think of EMP (like 965) as being akin to fine French cuisine -- everything is balanced and integrated to perfection, while CM is more like the kind of cuisine that foodies get excited about -- fresh, natural ingredients, bold flavors and it lets the individual components speak for themselves.
