I just went back to pipe smoking, after 20 years of smoking cigarettes.

have some great pipes but can't afford to shop in the pipe stores.

So I'm stuck with over-the-counter tobaccos,

and drugstore blends.

Today I bought a bag blenders gold burley in black,burns good

and cool.
just thought I would ask all you learned colleagues, what you thought of this brand of tobacco.

Need all help I can get.

As posted before my nose doesn't work anymore, so I have to rely on taste. Although the burley and black ,isn't too big in the taste department.

Never heard of it? I tried Sugar barrel and it was just OK. I enjoy Captain Black better. I need to try some more drug store blends but I'm stuck on mixing Mac Baren Royal and Molto Dolce at the moment. It is like smoking dessert it is so sweet! Check out this site they send out free samples, you can afford that :wink: They ask if you like English or Aromatic blends. I requested the Aro and got a tin of Molto Dolce FREE! :D It made my day when it was delivered.

Welcome aboard, Daniel! I've never heard of the brand you mentioned. As far as OTC tobacco is concerned, I highly recommend Carter Hall, Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic, and Sugar Barrel If you have any trouble finding these, almost all of the old OTC blends can be found on the West Virginia Smoke shops website for about the same prices you'd pay at the grocery store.

You should check out boswell tobaccos. They are like 2.75 an ounce or close. You do have to place the order over the phone but its all good stuff.

our great site sponsors also have some good deals. I usually order from pipesandcigars. They have great prices on bulk orders. 4 ounces of tobacco for like $8 or less.
You just have to look around for some good deals.
