Bland meerschaum smoke

I was wondering if anyone else noticed that certain blends seemed to be very bland when being smoked through a meerschaum? I know that meer is supposed to filter the smoke and make it some what cleaner(i may be wrong on that) but i was wondering if they can filter the taste out of the tobacco as well?

Meerschaum has a different flavor profile than briar. Some smokes I like in a Meer, some in a briar. That's just the way it goes.

Okay I wasnt for sure if I was right. I tried a blend in it that was called autumn evening thats a maple aro. But my dad was actually the one who mentioned it to me so i tried it and noticed a similar thing. It could be the ghosting though cause im pretty free with what i smoke in my pipes lol.
