The extra cost buys you something that doesn't come from enjoying tobacco.

Chevy's and Audi's do exactly the same thing, but an Audi makes a statement.

For me, the under $100 pipes work just fine (I stroke myself in other ways.)

I know it's sacriligious, but I've never been all that impressed with Dunhills. They're good pipes, they're just not worth the prices they charge.
For the price of that Dunny, I could get this:

I went for basket pipes and long stems rather than buy a $600 Dunhill Churchwarden, that didn't look any better than my little Wilmer.
As for the pipe itself Chuck; it's pretty but I don't go in for cross grained pipes.

They seem to get hotter to the touch than a good old straight, or flame grain.

I am not a huge fan of Dunghills.............Errrrrrrrrr Dunhills. Mainly because the few I have aren't any better smokers than my Petersons.
