If I'm focused on the blend, iced water goes well, keeps me hydrated and also seems to cause the smoke volume in the mouth, and the flavors, to increase, counter intuitive with the chilling effect. Bourbon is nice. Tea is good. I lighten my coffee slightly, which coats my mouth and diminishes discerning the flavors, but is good with some blends. Colas and ginger ale shoulder over the tobacco flavor for me.

I like coffee. Community is my regular brand. With some blends, a splash of cream actually helps it pair with the tobacco better, but with others I prefer it black. Iced tea is good if it’s hot out. Or iced coffee.

I’m an iced coffee guy regardless of weather. A little cream, a bit of sugar. I have heard it actually reduces risk to drink iced coffee while smoking. But besides that, I think flavors of coffee and tobacco are very complementary. Iced tea would be good as well.

The answer isn’t easy for me. Best, to me, refers to a situation. Example, after a long day, a glass of bourbon and some form of Va is perfect. In the morning strong black coffee and a VaPer is perfect. During the day GRANGER and water or Diet Coke or a whatever is PHENOMENAL.

I have many pipes, many blends and a well stocked bourbon drainage facility.

kind of like The Four Seasons. Different days, different weather. So different moods, different BEST.

A good rich coffee, tea w/cream and a little sugar, or water...

I‘m a whisky drinker, primarily scotch but I like most countries whisky, but the backy smoke will ruin the whiskies taste... Nothing wrong with that if you just want a buzz, but good quality whisky should be enjoyed solo, or with food.

I don’t pair any drink with my pipe. I will drink water if I am thirsty. If I manage to smoke a pipe in the morning, it will be in tandem with my morning coffee. If I am drinking alcohol on a Friday, then it would sort of be an automatic pairing, but even then I would smoke for a long time without the drink or sip on the drink when I am not smoking.

So no pairing, and if I am drinking something with the pipe then it’s purely situational.

My favorite pipe drink is coffee, which kind of sucks because if I drink it after 5 or so, I have trouble sleeping. Seltzer with a little fruit juice or sweet tea are my usual beverages after coffee o'clock has passed.
