I am interested in a inexpensive B&D short churchwarden, called a "bull's Cap. " Anyone know anything about this make of pipe?

I'm not familiar with their churchwardens, but I do have two Barlow & Dorr pipes I bought from Amazon unfinished for $17 each.

Both came with flaws in the outer surface that I chose to rusticate away with a rotary tool and drill bit. I stained and polished them, and they are my goto pipes in the garage or other environments that I don't want to chance a good pipe in.

Perfectly serviceable, cost barely more than some cobs, and they were fun to work on.

I think in another thread where they're mentioned, they are found in Texas. I don't know where they source their briar.

I don't know B&D pipes, but you might also look at EWA pipes made in France and sold at Iwan Ries. The short churchwardens are 7" and Group 2 (small), but can deliver a full-length smoke with flake, coin, plug, or rope cuts. Last I looked, I think they are about $37.
