Ball, Apple or Author?

I've been calling this a ball, but it occurs to me that I am wrong.
Damned nomenclature.

The chairs are pretty comfy at the ol' Huntington Humidor. I have a locker, keys and my office is just across the parking lot for those times when I need to print. Color me a lucky dog.

To me, that has more of a pot look or a variation of that shape. Some are hard to peg.
