Just wondered if anyone knew if there was a date code on the back of the BS tin.
Bought a new tin and there is a 1986 above a serial number. I don’t think any retailers are selling
32 year old tins of Balkin Sasieni. But, I wouldn’t know.

Can you post a picture of the back, you should be able to date it by the serial number.

I have been trying to date some tins as well. They don't seem to have a date code as far as I can tell and from what I have read. I just put the date I bought them on the tin and go with that now.

I asked this same question back in August of last year, as mine also had 1986 printed on the back label. That is not the date. The date is determined by the string of numbers below 1986.
In my case it was determined to be 10/7/2017

Thanks techie. That’s the exact serial number my tin has. Including the 1986 above it.

I believe this code scheme works on all STG tobaccos. I want to say the Mac Baren is the same too.
