Bald Headed Teacher Question

A few days ago I received my first order of BHT. I have noticed a bit of a nip/bite on the tongue when

smoking it. I am not smoking fast and have tried it in several pipes with the same result. Does it have Perique in it? Have any others that have smoked it noticed that?

I smoke the hell out of BHT and never get tongue bite. I have smoked it in three different pipes with the same result. Tommy on this forum likes this blend also maybe he can tell you what is in it.

Bald Headed Teacher's number one on my list of English styed aromatics.
I've never had it bite me, but I smoke slow, which you say you did. So out of curiosity I went and read 37 reviews and out of all of them only two mentioned anything about it "trying" to bite, and they both said their tobacco was wet.

So you might let your old tongue heal up, and let your tobacco dry a bit (no pun intended), and give it another shot.
As for the Perique, I smell none in the jar or in the smoke, and there's no mention of it in anything I've read. Heck, I can barely find the Latakia in it!
Don't give up, it's wonderful stuff!

Thanks for the feedback Tommy. My tongue is pretty good again. I dried it some when I received it.

I will wait for a few days and try it again. Maybe its a reactive thing with my chemistry.....but I have not had that problem with other tobacco. I really like it though.

I love Bald Headed Teacher and have just gotten 8 more ounces of it. Do any of you guys notice a slight casing to the blend - an aromatic agent? I do...and I don't think I am hallucinating. Whatever it is - a very enjoyable smoke. It what I reach for when I want a blend with Latakia that doesn't overwhelm. I tend to enjoy this as an apertif smoke before dinner...prefering a stronger blend later afterwards.

Bald Headed Teacher is a good blend, but has a different taste than most other mild smokes. I enjoy it.

I'm almost out. Time to reorder another 8oz bag. I like the different taste it gives. That's what sets it apart from the rest.

Burley, Virginia and a hint of latakia. No perique listed so it may be the latakia you're sensing.
