Baki Meerschaum

OK - so I spent maybe too much money; but, I'm really liking this pipe! Recently bought a Baki Meerschaum and have smoked it for a week. What I intend on doing is making this my main pipe and see how this meer colors. If I don't get too distracted I may even update this post on a regular basis so you all can see what happens over time - we'll see about that... I have a tendency to get distracted easily.

Here she is new as advertised:

Here she is after smoking her for a week:

Smoked everyday for the last week, 2-3 times a day, Virginia and Balkan blends, beeswax applied everyday, wiped down with a soft cloth once a day when cooled off.

Dunno... The bowl is bigger than I normally smoke - but, that't not all that bad. It seems like the craftsmanship is excellent - everything fits tightly and the lines are beautiful. The only problem I've had it sucking ash into my mouth b/c I'm trying to smoke the pipe all the way to the bottom so I get a good through heating from top to bottom all the way into the shank. I'll say I love watching the pipe color though. It's a fun pipe to smoke.

You'll notice the majority of the coloring start in the heel and work its way out. Takes a while. This is a shot of my IMP after a year and a half. Just don't smoke it outside when it's cold or you could crack it.

Consensus seems to be that waxing helps bring the color through, but I am skeptical
