Hey there. I've put together a little wish list (and a shopping cart). I haven't quite pulled the trigger yet; quite a few of these I've never smoked. That being said, they were all picked carefully. I was hoping those wiser than myself might weigh in and offer their thoughts. I do have one specific question: you will notice I have Nightcap, Quiet Nights, and Gaslamp. Are those three blends close enough in profile as to make any one of them redundant? The only one I've smoked to date is Nightcap which I love.

Thanks for reading and for any thoughts you might have to share.
8 tins of Escudo

1lb HH Latakia Flake

2 tins Ten Russians

1lb Nightcap

8 oz Quiet Nights

8 oz Gaslamp

1 tin Mcclelland Drama

1 tin Mcclelland Samsun
[I'll be storing all of the bulk tobacco in Pelican cases and very likely in mylar bags within those cases.]

They might be in some ways, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I adore burley blends. I've cellared up both Pegasus and Haunted Bookshop despite their similarities because I enjoy both. The more subtle differences between changing even a single component, or shifting a blend's proportions a tiny amount might drastically change the way it burns and ages. Lord Latakia, Greg Pease, has a blending portfolio that really speaks to this. So many of his heavier blends are remarkably similar, but the subtle differences make each one compelling for their own reasons. If you like heavier Latakia blends, and it seems you do, then try several blends in that neighborhood. With time I'm sure you'll find a favorite. Oh, and with that list, I might recommend Lancer's Slices or Fusilier's Ration to you, as well. It's heavy Latakia in a somewhat different direction.

I guess I'm unclear about the premise here. You're going backpacking? You're putting together an emergency tobacco bag (bug-out bag)? You're cellaring, but the word "cellaring" just isn't adventurous enough?
I'm just not sure what you're going for!
