Having just recently procured a fine meerschaum I've been enjoying, I've noticed some of the 20 r so samplers I have in 1.5 oz. and 50g tins seem to be more moist than others and makes it more difficult to smoke. I cant recall which but in picking up some it seemed it needed to cure a little or dry out before smoking. In encountering a baccy like that what would be a time frame to just let what you're going to smoke lay on the table or piece of paper before smoking...30 seconds, 20 minutes?

Depends how dry you want it.
If it's super wet check in after 20 min. Then proceed from there.
If it's aromatic goop, check it after an hour.

Enough whereby you don't have to keep lighting it. It wasn't wet but moist enough to create the need to relight several times in what I call my "15 minute bowl".

You could leave it out for a week and try it then if you really wanted to.
Try out some different times. 30 min, 1hour, 1.5 hour, 2 hours, etc.

My Meers seem to work very well with flake tobaccos, decent with cubes and just OK with ribbon cut. Could be packing method too. My smaller meer will gum up if I use the 3 step, so I reduce it down to 2. It's 100°+ here so 15 minutes outside in a tupperware bowl dries out all but the goopiest for me.

I like my tobacco almost dry. It's not uncommon for me to let a bowl sit out for 30 or 40 minutes before smoking it.
