So, my olive colored ebonite came in today, and I had a little time to work on my birthday pipe a bit. Well, I started the process of stemming my pipe and realized that I was not liking the direction it was going, with the palm wood, not to mention it started to crack a bit. I decided to take off the palm wood shank extention and instead, use some alabaster lucite and olive wood to go along with the theme of the olive ebonite. I am a lot happier with the results. It still has a lot of work (shaping, sanding...) but I am extremely impressed with the grain still, and I am excited to get this one finished and ready to smoke!

Shoot when I saw that extension my reaction was..."Whaaat? What gives an extension the right to be that damn pretty?" 8O
A damn fine choice that does a great job of bringing it all together. Coming together excellently.
