Just a short, sad note on what passes for tobacco companies in Australia.
Recently the federal government of the Commonwealth of Australia 'passed laws' mandating plain paper packaging. Essentially this destroys the ability of tobacco companies to differentiate and market their products. All cigarette packets must be green by the 1st of December, 2012. (Personally I hope that the Australian government does the same thing to Coca Cola, McDonalds and KFC. The precedent has been set.)
I have legal issues that I guarantee would prevent this plain paper packaging from happening. Matter of fact, properly handled, the material I have is so damaging it could force the Australian government to lower (or abolish) taxes on tobacco. Interestingly this material could also be used against the governments of Britain, New Zealand and Canada. It is devastating stuff. The governments of China and Japan are using it already against the Australian government.
Unfortunately I can find no one involved in what passes for the Australian tobacco industry to even look at it. Sure it's technical, but I have a number of senior legal counsels in the UK who are well aware of the issues and willing to provide advice and appear, if required. I'm trying to give this information away (like I did to the Chinese and Japanese governments), but the tobacco industry just isn't interested.
So as governments around the world destroy tobacco and the ability of people to freely choose to use it, just remember that governments and busybodies aren't the real problem. The real problem is the tobacco industry which is intent on committing suicide.
I'm growing and learning how to cure my own!
