If your in the export business prepare for a strong demand for cigarette cases. Just got a post from an Aussie who says it applies to pipe tobacco packets also. What a waste of time, buy a cheap pouch and throw away what it originally came in. He also mentioned the challenge to the legislation may go to the UN as it effects the business of a lot of countries.

I read that... Then they should put obese people on junk food products, or people dying of diabetes on candy products!

Middle grandson is the newest smoker in the family and I asked him of his opinion of these packs if/when they turn up here. He said he would put the baccy in his pouch and chuck away the packet.

If this keeps up and we all quit using tobacco, they’ll have to look elsewhere for their tax revenue. Then what will they over tax to death… maybe sex? That doesn’t scare me… I’ve been married for 29 year so my tax portion won’t amount to much.

They should also put pictures of smashed up people on cars, people in a burning building on candles, pictures of swollen people on bees, child soldiers on the glass cases next to your new diamond jewelry, and all politicians should be mandated to wear a t-shirt that says 'I'm With Stupid' with an arrow pointing straight up to their faces.

Ah the joys of the Nanny State.
If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?”

― Frédéric Bastiat, The Law
The answer is that, yes, they do consider themselves well above their subjects. This is especially true in the these days in Great Britain and much of the Commonwealth. But ti's ever truer in the USA (ref. Mayor Michael Bloomberg's recent edicts on large sodas and baby formula).
