I have been perusing ebay and I stumbled across who I believe to be the managing director of James Upshall company selling some of these pipes. Some were made by Dunhill and some made by Upshall with Barry Jones doing the carving for the Upshall made ones. They look intriguing, and I was wondering if anyone here has any in their collection? They are not being made anymore so I am thinking I could own a bit of history. Here is a pic.

Actually they ARE still being made. The owner of Upshall (whose name escapes me) bought the rights to the Astley name a few years ago. I have one and I'd swear it was made by Les Wood of Ferndown. I'll post a picture tomorrow.

There are several Astleys owners in the "Streets of London" social club on the SmokersForum.uk. All very pleased and no detractors that I'm aware of. The Upshall ebay offerings sure look appealing and price right to boot.
This Rhodesian sure looks nice. They usually stay well under $200.

Not the best photos but it's a fine pipe. I should probably pick it up more often than I do.
