I have smoked aromatics for many years and have primarily been used to smoking tobacco's that have been flavored with what I am guessing are watered down food flavorings. Many of these tobaccos are very wet/oily and wet smoking and leave alot of not so pleasant after tastes when you are smoking them. I went to a shop on saturday and bought two house blends that I am really enjoying. The one is a black cavendish flavored with toased coconut and brazillian cavendish which is a very nice blend. The other is a black cavendish that is flavored with an herb called deer tongue. It is a very spicy mix that finished with almost and almond like taste.
Neither of there tobaccos have wet or oily feel. The are not dry...but rather have almost a toasted feel to them. I usually drink a cup of coffee with my pipe mainly to wash the aftertaste left by most tobaccos out of my mouth. I do not get any aftertaste like this with either of these tobaccos. I really am enjoying both, but the one with the deer tongue, I have a feeling that it is going to be my day in day out regular smoke.
Both of these blends were bulk blends from local shop. I have not encountered this type of aromatics and really like this. Have I just had poor luck in not stumbling onto these "better" grades or aromatics or have I found something that is just not very common anymore?
