EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9)
I just received my first big bulk purchase: 14 oz. Cornell & Diehl's Chestnut. It comes in a big ol' plastic canister with knurled lid. After I remove the thin film sealing the canister and dip into the tobacco, is the canister meant to serve as a storage container for the coming months?
I've jarred probably 6 or 7 of the original 14 oz. in a couple of mason jars for longer term storage, but I wanted to know if there are any cautions against using the canister the tobacco came in to store the rest. It should be no different than a traditional tobacco jar, right? I figure that if the tobacco starts to dry out, I can let a clay humidifier sit in there for a while.
