I went down into my extensive archives and searched through shapes. The back story on this shape is fairly unique. That my friends, is a Flamboyant Acorn first released by Sixten Ivarsson in the late 1940's. At the time most pipes, even in Denmark, were of the traditional design and the world was not ready for such unusual shapes. Upon seeing it, the wife of the owner of Suhr’s Pibereparation fainted after exclaiming "Why is he smoking a wooden testicle?" The owner's teenage daughter kept saying "Can I touch?" Sixten was asked to remove it from the shop and never bring it back in if he valued his job. Sixten knew one day things would change and released it decades later. Over time things and perceptions changed. Pipes such as Preben Holms acid induced freehands put pipes such as this into a better light by comparison. Now it is considered a beautiful pipe very much in keeping with the Danish style. Enjoy it in good health!
