Anyone recognize this brand?

Someone is selling this near me. The seller is saying that he bought this in 1975 and smoked only couple times.
I can't really read the brand name clearly from the picture, but the shape and the condition seems fine for the price (About $7.00).
Probably a random basket pipe, but I thought I'd try your wisdom here anyway

It looks very much like a basket pipe from that era. I have one remarkably similar.

Take a white Crayon or some flour and highlight the imprint ,,, the name is only half readable in your photo ... "Jon ??? then underneath Sea rock briar pipe" So its mediteranean briar. Probably an excellent pipe perhaps made for a pipe store. Its worth buying for $7.00.

For crud's sake just buy the thing. You didn't orient the picture that so anybody could tell who it is.

I can't quite make it out through the glare. Note the logo on the stem. Suggests it's original -- and it doesn't look much used. But for $7, buy it. Let us know how it goes.

Looks like it might be Jeantet Select Briar. You should buy it. I’d buy it based on condition alone.

And angle of light makes a big difference, as well as not using a bright background.
