The wife is bidding on this she wants to give this to me as a gift because its 2 of the things i love guns and pipes. anyone know anything about it i cant find any info
I don't know much. I've seen them on ebay before. I seem to remember the seller saying the bowl was wood an the rest is bakelite. I assume it's briar. I cant be sure though. Id get it just for the novelty
"Revolver" pipes are always on ebay and usually bring fairly good prices, I guess because of their uniqueness. Having said that, I've never seen one as detailed as that, it's a mighty fine example indeed. They also do the same type of thing in the form of a lady's very shapely leg
I think it would look funny to smoke. I can see it now walking down the street a cop tazers ya because it looks like your trying to off your self hahahahahaha anyone care to try if i win it?
I have one that is similar, but the stem seems longer on that one. The bowl unscrews from mine and the pistol body is hard plastic. I hesitate to say it is Bakelite, I don't know. It has no markings for clues to a maker. I did see one like it in a display at SM Frank, the Kaywoodie people, but don't if it was something they made way back when.
Those are pretty freaking cool.
And now I want one... Could always get one made out of Meerchaum!
Post a pic Shaintiques, pretty darn relevant to the post if you ask me.
I bought this recently and it is unsmoked. It has some scratches on the surface of the gun and i think maybe the barrel part may have been broken and then repaired, but I really am not sure. There's no prob with the draw and I ddnt really notice the scratch lines at first. It may have just been made that way. Also the other ones i have seen have a flat stem mouthpiece. I think someone removed that and rounded the end off to make it Look more like a gun. Either way this is a neat little piece. The one from the forum post sold for 116.00. It was bigger than this one, but had been smoked. I would like to get 60 for it but might take less. Even with what I have described Im pretty confident I could get 60 or more for it on ebay. Let me know what you think.
Most of them were made from gutta-percha, which is biologically inert and was well suited for molding. I've never seen an attribution for a maker so I'm not sure if they were all made by the same company or if there was more than one manufacturer.
That sounds like me lately.
I've glanced at a few of those pipes on ebay. Not really my cup of tea personally, but that is definitely one of the nicer looking ones I've seen with the longer 'barrel' and all.
