I don't see many pipes with so much of the stem being part of the bowl. I have no idea, but I figure that characteristic will make it identifiable.

Juni - When does a Lovat become a Canadian? (sounds like the first line of a joke! :) ) Or is it like the Bulldog /Rhodesian division, where different people will give different answers?
Nsfisher - Looks like a nice sized and rusticated pipe you got yourself there.

A Canadian usually has a elliptical shank, rather than a perfectly round one, which is longer than a Lovat's and ends in a saddle-bit stem. That seems to be a Canadian and if there are no stamps its probably nothing worth money on the market but its very nice.

There are four shapes in the Canadian family that all have the characteristic long shank:

Canadian - oval, tapered

Lumberman - oval, saddle

Liverpool - round, tapered

Lovat - round, saddle
To me the pipe in the picture looks like a liverpool. Hard to see if it's oval or round though, so could be a canadian as well.

Looks very similar to a clarendon pipe i have, but that probably doesnt help at all. I hope it smokes well, doesnt matter what it is when it smokes well

Well, I guess that "you're OK" in that case :)

Dr. Plumb? Does that mean you come from Good Old Blighty?
