Does anyone have any information about F&K? Who blends for them? I’ve been on a kick lately and really enjoy Merde de Cheval. Is this a Swiss or French blend? Please tell me they are not affiliated with Sutliff/Mac Baren. I’ve been thinking about grabbing some Stirling Balkan based off the quality of their other stuff. They use really unique tins.

Tobaccoreviews.com says that their Bat in a Hat is made by Sutliff. The can for Merde de Cheval (which I love) seems to be the same can so I assume that it is Sutliff as well.

Is it though? You may be right. The can does seem similar to the Sutliff Maple blend that I bought years ago. I was hoping that they weren’t tied in with Sutliff due to their recent state. The tobacco characteristics however have nothing in common with the Sutliff English blends that I’ve had. Man, I hope the brand doesn’t get cut or any of it’s blends.

I don’t think that F&K as a brand will go away. They keep a pretty low profile, but their office is listed as being in St. Louis. My local B&M supplier has dealt with them for over a decade, and he told me that F&K is independently owned, and part of a successful tobacco enterprise. I really enjoy Merde de Cheval (Love it when someone asks what I am smoking, and I get to share the joke), I just don’t know if I should cellar it deeper than the 15 or so cans I have now.
