Anybody else ordered from Pipe Divan (James Fox) before?

So I’ve been itching to buy another pipe pretty bad lately. I love Peterson’s, and I only have one currently so I thought I’d purchase another. After sleuthing around for weeks online at all of the major online sites, I stumbled upon Pipe Divan. I’m shocked at how cheap their prices are! I wasn’t planning on buying anything close to as nice as what I did, but it was so much cheaper than anywhere else I just couldn’t pass it up. I ended up pulling the trigger on a Peterson Rosslare Royal Irish 6 and it was about $50-$60 cheaper than any other one I’ve seen for sale. I guess I’m wondering if they’re super legit and anyone else has gotten a pipe from them? Also how long did shipping take from Ireland? I know James Fox is a well respected name in the community... I guess just getting something for so cheap makes my sixth sense tingle. Seems too good to be true! But I already paid the man, so...

They are stand up guys! I live in Austin Texas, I placed an order with Pipe Divan on the same day I placed an order from SmokingPipes, The order from Pipe Divan arrived a day before the SP order arrived, now that is FAST! I've never ordered a pipe from them but I remember the shipping being quite reasonable but I can't remember what it was exactly and it's been about a year since I've ordered anything from them, pretty sure it's a flat rate fee.

I think your order is safe. PIpe Divan isn't mentioned often here, but when it has been it's been positive. I look at the site often when I'm searching for a pipe. If one I wanted popped up there, I would have pulled the trigger on the purchase in a heartbeat. Congratulaions on the Rosslare Royal Irish. I have on in the 106 (big brother to the 6) shape and it's lovely, and a great smoker. Be sure to post photos when it arrives :clap:

Well I’m glad to hear that others have ordered from them and received their goods as expected. Hopefully this Pete is as nice in person as I’m expecting it to be! Sterling Silver band/mount with supposedly zero fills briar on this line should make for one hell of a nice straight billiard. I’ll be sure to post pictures as soon as she arrives.

Pipe Divan is good and the Peterson pipes they sell don't seem to have the flaws that are lamented about on here from time to time. That may have to do with their location -- I think they are Dublin based. Priced good. Quality good.

Happy to hear it! Now I’m double excited to get this beauty. I should’ve gone for a cheaper Peterson for my 2nd one. Now I’ve set the bar too high, and probably have my “crown jewel” for the foreseeable future.

mtwaller:Thats a right choice,in my experience,as for now,it might be advisable to stay away from the lower-end Peterson pipes.

Learned long ago to always go with them for Petes. They seem to get the cream of the crop from Peterson.

dochudson I’m excited to hear that!! I’d be disappointed to pull the trigger on a somewhat higher end Peterson and have it be flawed. A tiny fill here or there wouldn’t bother me. But construction-wise I’m expecting damn near perfection.

I ordered a couple of pipes from Pipe Divan the day this post was started. I ordered a pipe and my son ordered one also and we received free shipping.
Here's an update.

Ordered on 1/15/19 and they shipped the same day 1/15/19.

Arrived in the U.S. next day 1/16/19.

Delivered today 1/24/19.

A total of 9 days.
Reasonably priced and very well packaged. Each individual pipe was wrapped in bubble wrap inside their own pipe box. I am very pleased with Pipe Divan and I will definitely order from them again. They have pipes not available on any of the U.S. online websites.

scloyd that’s great! Mine arrived in a week and was well packaged and it’s a lovely looking pipe. Has a few issues that don’t thrill me, considering it’s supposed to be in the upper end of Peterson’s pipes, but I believe I can work them out and have an excellent smoking pipe. Pipe Divan was fantastic to work with, though!
