Well, Failed experiment living in South FL, heading up to CT. Any recommendations? looked at the retail page of the forum, have Connecticut Valley Tobacconist on the list, the others look not promising / are not longer around?
Never had the time to really explore in FL and want to do so up North, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

CVT is great definitely go there. Carolina Tobacco Emporium in Manchester is also great. There’s a pipe club that just started up there. The Owl Shop is one of the only places to sit and have a drink and a smoke. Butthead’s in Danbury is jam packed with pipes tobacco and cigars. Many say the owner can be stand-offish but he was very helpful and cordial to me. I belong to a pipe club that meets monthly at the Tobacco Shop in Hartford. It’s about to change hands, so there isn’t a lot of inventory. Hopefully that changes soon!

Kevin will talk your ear off if you let him but I've never had an instance where he was standoffish. Havent been there in awhile since the tobacco tax hike but used to go all the time. Its like $40 for a tin of Navy rolls now, crazy. That place is pretty cleaned out now anyway.

I thought Kevin was awesome and he took time to walk me through my first pipe purchase and a tobacco recommendation. I was there last spring and the pipe and tobacco selection was huge. Cigars were just freaking everywhere in the shop. As you said CT taxes are crazy (I believe it’s 100% of the wholesale price on pipe tobacco), and I paid $25 for a 1.75 oz tin of tobacco that retails for $10 online.
