I dont often do them but my goal is more exercise.

Im 60 and I move around like an old man. No reason other than being out of shape after a long surgery recovery a year ago.

Im not trying to get buff or anything major. Just toned so I dont hurt after lifting and working on projects.

Maybe I can add being less of a grumpy old man too.

I picked up a used cable weight machine and put it in the basement. Holidays got in the way but Im going to try to use it regularly. Even if its for short workouts. I figure anything is better than sitting on my rear.

I want to drag my camera out soon and walk the town and nearby villages as well. I was doing that pretty regularly for a while.

My resolution is to become fit and well enough to be able to visit the UK's top tourist attraction, Bude Tunnel. Not that I would actually do any such thing, just be able to and no more.
I had to look up the Bude Tunnel. I never knew Bude had a tunnel. Meh. The UK's top attraction has to be the Dartford Crossing... well, at least it gets more visits in a year than anywhere else in these isles. Visitors just don't tell TripAdvisor about it, is all. Seriously, though, I wish you every success in fulfilling your resolution. Maybe you'll visit the Dartford Crossing instead - or its nearly-as-popular sister attraction, the Dartford Tunnel. Or perhaps you already make that pilgrimage regularly?

New Year resolutions? I don't make 'em any more (that was a New Year Resolution I made some years ago and, of course, my last). What I do have, though, is aspirations. I aspire, for example, to get the land I bought a year ago into full production; I aspire to get all the fruit trees pruned and the hedges cut before spring. I aspire to get a load of logs cut today. God may have different plans with the weather, mind - we'll just have to see.

Ooh, I have the full set of Dartfords - including Eurostar!

I'm determined to finish setting up my new Hi-Fi system this year.

In May 2023 I bought a new Yamaha AVR that sat in its crate in my spare room until June last year when I finally plucked up the effort to set it up (with the help from a neighbour as I couldn't lift it out the box).

Two months ago I bought a new Yamaha integrated amp (AS-1200) and I fear that will suffer the same fate as the AVR unless I force myself to get my finger out and install it. I got all the interconnects and stuff, I just need to actually get on with it as I'm itching to hear if it sounds as good as the reviews say.

Jay.

I always go for something unhealthy. That way I can feel good when I don't keep to my resolution. Things like to eat more cake.

Not a New Year's resolution necessarily, but just to continue the way I finished 2024. My wife and I made a conscious decision to eat better, and to move more several months ago, so we will continue in 2025. As a result we feel much better and have had substantial weight loss. Only negative is the local DoorDash and Uber Eats economy has suffered greatly....
