Bought this for just under $50, and would love to know of its history if anyone's in the know.. Also, the tenon seems to be reversed? It's stuck into the pipe with the mortise being in the stem. Is that supposed to be that way?
Do you have a picture of the stem out of the pipe and the mortise? If it goes directly into the wood without a liner it may be from the transitional period of 1969 to 1971. I have a transitional Kapmeer 999 wherein the stem just fits into the stummel without the reciprocal liner ... I forget the proper terminology for it at the moment.
Disregard what I wrote then. That is the complete opposite of what I have. This PPN blog. might help you. It maybe that the tenon is screwed in and the opposite end was glued into the stem and became free. I do not know anything about these bulldogs.Apologies! I meant to include one but forgot to take it! It's either lodged into the pipe super tight or has been glued in as I wasn't able to pull it out with a generous twist and tug

@Streeper541 collects them and may be able to answer your question.
Neat find, great rustication! Should clean up nice!
