I picked up this Cellini original, which I believe is generally referred to as a Zulu. I haven't smoked it yet, but it has the type of hard as plastic briar I tend to really enjoy.

Top quality pipes from a very esteemed and old Chicago shop that I used to visit on occasion in my college years. Closed in the 80's. You will never find a fill in a Cellini Original. Carved by some of the best in the business in their day. I have several of them. Fantastic pipes.

I gave it a go over the weekend, and found that you guys are spot on. It is an excellent smoker. I might have to pick up the other two I saw at the shop, at some point.

Victory Pipe Craftsmen (aka Cellini's) was "my" pipe shop, throughout the 60s and 70s. I have 10 of their pipes from back in the day, and they've always been in my rotation, all great smokers. I also have quite a few of my non-Cellini pipes that were repaired or customized in the shop. I have great memories of that place.
