Hi Fred: Just read most of your article. The reason that English pipes and tobaccos will not go down in price is that the importers have a chance to make some really big money here. I know because I used to import Japanese and European cameras. When you get a favorable break in the exchange rate, you grab it. That is where the money is to be made in importing. The way to counter that move is to buy directly from European sources, which may not work with tobacco because of the taxes.
