When I am done finishing my smoking for the day or night, the first place I go thee next day is the What Are You Smoking Thread. Every day month after month, year after year I klick on to my last post and ever single time there are 4 pages for me to read through. Not 3 not 5 not 2 not 6 the only number is 4 which of course belongs to the greatest hockey player of all time Bobby Orr. It doesn't matter when I stop perusing. Doesn't matter if I don't have the site on. I am fore warning you this is the Devils work so don't go making any deals too soon.

Who knows what kind of hoodoo jibber spews forth from the from the bowls of the pipesmagazine engine in the wee hours. The devil could be heavily involved.

Met No. 4 a couple times in Boston, the first time i was 18 and working loss prevention at the Boston Harbor Hotel, it was annoy 6 am amd i was doing my rounds when i walked into the Map Room off of the lobby, he was at a small table in the corner with #16, it was dark in there so i walked over (pretty stoked) and asked if they wanted the lights turned up, Mr Orr said no but they could use coffee. I went and raided the pastry shop (in house) made up a tray of every pastry i could find amd a big pot of coffee and brought it to them, he asked what he owed and i laughed amd asked if he was kidding, i did say am autograph would be great though and he asked if i had a pen and paper, him amd Sanderson both signed a heavy stock hotel card for me, it’s by far my favorite autograph.

Years later i worked in the Pru and that’s where his offices are so many elevator trips with him, we used to see ppl bringing bundles of hockey sticks up and i was told that every now and then Bobby would sign a bunch of sticks and they would be sold or raffled off for charity.

Best hockey player of all time -- Gordie Howe -- no doubt.

I used to regularly post in the What are you smoking threads, then got away from it. Now I seldom even look at the thread.

There is no end to numerology. Numbers are everywhere. It doesn't mean they're telling us anything.

If my simple addition is correct, a review of the last 4 pages reveals 80 posts or 20 posts per page with @JimInks posting 3,3,5,1 which equals 12; there are 81,888 Threads, 1,881002 Posts, 26,319 Members, and 11 site sponsors listed on the front forums page. So I agree with @mso489 it doesn't mean anything.
I also think it might be time to clean your pipe and try a new tobacco. ;) But do be sure to post what it is in the What are you Smoking October thread !

Great story. Meeting the greatest of all time

Go look at the stats. Look at the Plus/Minus stat and you will be amazed. Look at his goals and assists from a defensemen. Ever watch a player rag the puck when the other team was on a power play. Orr could do it himself. I grew up watching Gordy Howe and while he was great, Orr could skate rings around him.

There is no questioning Orr’s skills, but those knees never allowed him to play a truly full career, and consistently high performance over a long career has to be a criterion for judging the greatest of all time.

You mention plus/minus - Larry Robinson played almost twice as long and his +\- was 20% higher than Orr’s. Gretzky’s not far behind Orr.

If Orr had been to play longer, he very well may have gotten to be the greatest. Orr changed the game, but Gretzky changed it more. He shattered all scoring records and won twice as many cups.

1. Gretzky
2. Orr
3. Howe
