Another Reason Pipers Are The Most Interesting Smokers

I just realized that listening to pipe smokers talk about their virgin and near virgin moments are more interesting than cig or cigar smokers. If for no reason then the infinite (nearly) combinations of virgin tobacco and virgin pipe. Right out of the gate already more interesting. Cigs and Cigars only have brands and often times people say it was some cig are what ever brand that chick I had that crush was smoking. Just another little thought about our lifestyle hobby addiction thing.

Cigarette smokers are mostly nicotine addicts getting a fix. I was there, done that. Cigar smokers are a bit more civilized but after you smoke a cigar, it is first in the ashtray and then in the trash can. Pipe smokers still have the pipe and whatever is left in the tin after a bowl of tobacco. There is some ceremony to smoking a pipe.

Okay, so true story: the first car I bought (mom & dad helped a little) was an old 1968 Pontiac GTO. Orange with a black Endura bumper, tach on the hood, Holly 4 barrel 550 CFM carb (it was an aftermarket carb), limited slip differential, Hurst his/her shifter, black vinyl interior. Ran the numbers in my Chilton’s manual and found out after discussion with the mechanic (that I paid oh so much money to, constantly) that it was a custom order car, originally in Mayfair Maize. No seatbelts.

So, long large back seat, right? — Oh wait, is this that kind of “virgin story” thread?

Anyway, I totaled my beautiful first true love on Christmas Eve day, 1987. Three days in the ICU, two weeks total in the hospital... ? Man I fk’n LOVED that car.

I remember older guys talking about back seat fun time like you don't need a few years of yoga practice to have a good time... and then seeing old cars that had sofas basically bolted into the back.... It suddenly made sense and I wished that they still made the back with comfort in mind.

Nope. The wife works at home so if a virgin arrives for me, she'll just put a "return to sender" stamp on her. She's very much against anything that might bring me pleasure. Says its in the wife's code book. I ask to see it, she says I'm not a wife.
