Another Nimrod

Picked up another 2nd hand Nimrod and need some advice. An earlier seller placed an adhesive label to the leather/leatherette and left quite a bit of the adhesive behind.

This Nimrod is well used and it's appearance leaves quite a bit to be desired. However, I don't want to make it look worse.
So, on that note, what's the best way practice to clean off the remaining gunk?

Damn it, Roth! I keep a can of that pressurized fish oil in just about every room of the house. But when I have a situation involving my pipes and associated ephemera, I automatically drop into a fighter's crouch and start thinking about special tools, lotions and potions.
So stupid.
A pipe really is nothing more than a tool. And a pipe, simply put, is nothing more than a method of transporting tobacco goodness into the body Fnord.
Why do I keep over-complicating things?

I like the looks of the Nimrod and had one in the 80's. I will have to EBay one. +1 on goo gone.
