About a week ago I was cleaning up my old hunting truck to get ready for the season and found

a pipe I haven't seen in quit a while. It was tucked away under the seat with some leather

gloves. I still have my last 3 new trucks, an '84 Chevy, a '98 GMC and an '11 Silverado. The

pipe was in the Chevy (with the boat on top). I have no idea when the last time I saw it was, but

thinking it was around '90 or so. I bought the pipe in the mid 70's. It's a Gregorio brier. I've

been smoking it for the last week and it smokes great... nice cool 45 minute smoke. Looked-up

Gregorio on-line but couldn't find much information about it.... Anyone see or hear of one

before?

Ha! Thanks Greg! I bought the Chevy when I got back from Okinawa in '83 and the Jon boat when my first

son was born in '78. I don't use that boat anymore... but it makes great shade for my coolers in the

back of the truck!

You may have already seen this but here is all they had on Pipedia...
Gregorio Briarfection
Joseph M. Gregorio († 1985); Bronx, New York. Beautifully designed and wonderful dry, cool, smoke-it-all-the-way-down-to-white-ash-in-the-bottom. He is said to have used the greatest wood in the world according to Rob Denholtz of FINE OLDE BRIARS Poughkeepsie, NY. He’s had a few go through his shop and said “I WANT MORE!!” (Pipes Digest #237 -- May 27, 1997)

Wow.
This is so much better than putting on an old jacket and finding a twenty dollar bill squirreled away in a pocket.
Top, I'd go crazy losing a pipe this pretty. Glad you found it, friend.

I travel near Poughkeepsie NY with some frequency, but alas, Fine Old Briars is no more..

I wish this 'Ron Deholtz' still had his business Al, I have questions... If I remember right,

I bought this pipe in a mall tobacco store (Tinder Box) in St. Louis.

Ha! Sorry Guys! I'm really not that absent-minded. But I smoke all day and take

several pipes with me when I go out. I have learned to keep better inventory though.

I use a paper plate basket on the dash instead of throwing them on the seat.

Congratulations on finding an old friend. Now you can appreciate the pipe again and reflect back on memories from when you last used it before it was found again
