Jimmy developed and mastered a type of rustication that uses air pressure & media to remove material, but isn't "blasting" in the usual sense of the word.
Most people have seen or used those pencil-sized airbrushes used in model making and other small project finishing. (Even women's makeup application, believe it or not.) Imagine a sandblast rig of similar size. One that uses tiny nozzles and really fine media.
With such a tool, Cooke then spends
many hours delicately following a briar block's growth rings. The end result is a distinctive finish that says JT COOKE from across the room.
Last I checked, his work is quite popular.
